Human Design And Business

Human Design, a unique system combining astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and quantum physics, offers profound insights into our individuality, decision-making, and energetic blueprint. Understanding and aligning with your human design type can guide you towards making strategic business choices, tapping into your strengths, and achieving authentic success

In ‘Build You Digital Community’ Episode 13, we meet with Jenn Walker, a business coach and member of Monarch Business Academy who uses mindset and human design to help heart-centered entrepreneurs tap into their infinite power and highest potential.

Self Work & Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

There is so much self work that happens as entrepreneurs. The best stories and experiences can come from moments where we are challenged and we get the chance to rise above them.

There are so many incredible strategies to use within an approach called neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). One of Jenn’s favorite methods is reframing, a basic practice that isn’t often used.

Left unchecked, your experiences or traumas will leave you in a downward spiral. However, we can influence this loop at any stage. When we decide to re-frame, we get to choose if we want to shift to an upward spiral. For example, if you view your burn out as something wholly negative, it will only dampen the actions that you take going forward. These can be the moments where we consciously surrender, learn patience, and listen to ourselves. All of the answers are within you.

Infradian Rhythm

Infradian rhythm focuses on women’s hormonal cycles. In large part, women are expected to conform to cultural systems that best suit men. Everything we have been taught about productivity is through the lens of a male’s hormonal system. For example, our society is often scheduled around a daily cycle, which lends itself to male hormonal cycles where testosterone rises and falls over the course of a day.

Contrastingly, there is very little research regarding women. Jenn recognized this gap and educated herself about the differences, empowering women to tap into the potential that takes place in a twenty-four hour cycle. Women’s brain chemistry changes by over twenty-four percent during the different stages of our cycle.

Human Design Types

We can often take for granted how our energy comes across to other people - in both positive and negative ways. Tools like human design allow us to open up the conversation to deeply acknowledge, understand, and accept our differences. It is a system based on energetics, helping us to determine the path of least resistance.

There are five different types within human design: Generators, Manifesting Generators, Manifestors, Projectors, and Reflectors.

Generator’s auras are open and evolving. Their biggest strategy in life is the luxury to respond. They go into situations with a game plan, but are prepared to shift their plans accordingly. Generators should be encouraged to share the things that turn them on in life via attraching marketing. When they say yes and no to things is a sacral yes or no - meaning they fully commit or desist to things. If they tune into things that bring them joy, they will be successful. If they encounter an obligation that doesn’t light them up, they can push through and still be successful. However, it won’t have the same flow.

Manifesting Generator’s have a warm aura. They are a combination of a manifestor and a generator. They are superhuman, showing the rest of us what is possible. Manifesting Generators wait for their external realities to validate their ideas before they enter a state of productive flow. After they respond, they can then initiate and inform. Manifesting Generators are good at cold calls and hard sells. The saying ‘the riches are in the niches’ does not apply to them. They are multi-passionate, multi-hyphenates, who aren’t meant to finish projects, but rather start them and delegate out. When marketing your expertise, try siloing out your strengths or focuses.

Manifestor’s auras are closed and repelling. They are direct fire starters and are not for everyone. Yet, they have the potential to deeply serve those who are right for them. Manifestors should follow their heart urges, even if there is no clear path. They go through ebbs and flows of high and low energy, meaning they require periods of rest. After periods of rest, periods of creation tend to follow.

Projector’s auras are focused and penetrative. They hold the newest type of energy in our world. Projectors are seers who are able to bring a different point of view on a project or situation. They are made to influence and master, while holding the ability to think outside the box and see a better way of doing things. Projectors have stabilized energy, meaning that they should ideally strive for a maximum of three hours of output a day. This typically means three hours of deeply influencing whatever they are mastering, followed by time spent getting into process, resting, reflecting, and studying. Projectors are able to determine the most effective and efficient way to serve on a bigger scale. Focus on getting your expertise out into the world and people who are right for you will want to work with you.

Reflectors are mystical, open mirrors. Environment is deeply to them. They are the rarest human design type, belonging to about 1% of the world’s population. During the length of their lunar cycle, they will experience a sampling phase of each of the other human design types. They hold the ability to realize things and reflect those things back, delivering an accurate representation of the pulse of a group. Reflectors go through life in a discovery mindset versus finding a purpose and pursuing it. They should seek out coaches who specialize in guiding Reflectors.

When Your Ambitions Worry Family Members

Starting new ventures, taking risks, or even leaving our stable 9 to 5 to go out on our own can understandably worry our family members. Here is Jenn’s communication structure to help navigate these feelings:

  • Try to understand and have gratitude for the why behind the worry. It ultimately shows that your family or friends deeply care about you.

  • Then, enter a place where you can validate their fears and have empathy. Starting a business IS scary and it is filled with uncertainty. There is the possibility that it won’t work out.

  • Finally, let them know that you have already considered all of this and that you have your safety net planned out. This could be, for example, giving yourself one year to get your business off the ground or getting a part time job to cover your expenses.

Human design can have a profound impact on how we choose to navigate life and work. The system ultimately helps to better inform us about our unique energetic makeup, decision-making strategies, and life purpose. We hope that Jenn’s insight can help guide you to a place of inner fulfillment and authentic self alignment.
